With December quickly approaching, Section athletes will be heading to the 2012 Skate Canada Challenge to compete against some of Canada's top Section skaters. Good luck to
all parents, skaters and officials! 

 

This time of the year always seems to fly by, so stay tuned to the Section website for updates on region competitions, upcoming test days, activities and events happening in your region, and opportunities to get involved.

 

REMEMBER...Become a Member of the Alberta Figure Skating Foundation before December 31, 2011

By becoming a member, skater's have the opportunity to receive the Triple Quadruple/Gold Award, which recognizes skaters who have achieved their gold test level in any three or four of the Skate Canada figure skating disciplines. The Merit Award is presented on behalf of the AFSF, and recognizes a skater (single, dance or pair team) that exemplifies the most deserving performance during the Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/Nunavut Sectional Championships. See Taylor's performance here.

Japan Hosts Stop Number Four on the ISU Grand Prix Circuit

Natasha Purich and Raymond Schultz were the sole Canadian pair team who competed in their category. This was their second year competing together and NHK Trophy was their first competition on the ISU Senior Grand Prix Circuit. [Results]

Good Luck to Athletes travelling to Regina, Saskatchewan for the 2012 Skate Canada Challenge!

50 skaters from the Alberta-NWT/Nunavut Section will be heading to Regina to compete. These athletes represent various clubs througout Alberta, and came together as a team on November 20, 2011 at a simulation day in Red Deer.
