Natasha & Raymond Attend First ISU Grand Prix Event

Athletes, Parents, Volunteers & Sponsors,

First and foremost I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to picturesque Grande Prairie, Alberta. Our beautiful and modern city provides various amenities which are sure to make your stay enjoyable and memorable.

Participating in the sport of figure skating is rarely an individual feat. Parents, volunteers, and community play a large role in motivating, mentoring, and preparing skaters for the many challenges and successes that lie ahead. A skater's drive to compete and ability to showcase their talent is admirable and makes each individual community proud.

The Local Organizing Committee has dedicated many hours to ensure that the 2012 Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/Nunavut Sectional Championships remains the prestigious event it has been in the past. Without the support of the Grande Prairie community, this task would have been impossible. Thank you to the many sponsors and contributors for your ongoing support to community events and provincial/territorial initiatives.

Finally, thank you to all of the volunteers participating at this year's Sectionals. Fulfilling these roles can present many obstacles and challenges. However, the dedication to your roles is obvious and the 2012 Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/Nunavut Sectional Championships is the product of your tireless efforts.

Grande Prairie is proud to welcome the 2012 Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/Nunavut Sectional Championships, and hopes this experience is as memorable for attendees and participants as it has been for us. On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee and the Grande Prairie community, I would like to wish all skaters good luck!

Warmest Regards,

Dori Mark

Chair, LOC
