The Shared Learning Collaborative (SLC) is an alliance of states, foundations, educators, content providers, developers, and vendors who are passionate about using open technology to provide personalized learning for students. 

 

On September 8-9, 1871 will host SLC Camp Chicago, a two day collaboration between teachers and developers working to identify quality online content for the classroom. Everything you need to participate will be provided at this pioneering event including food and drink at no cost to the participants.  Show up with a passion to revolutionize education and we'll connect you with the people to make it happen.

What does Mrs. Judd's Games do?
Mrs. Judd's Games is a collaboration between KBooM! Games and Frances Judd, an early childhood educator with more than 25 years of experience and expertise from teaching kindergarten at the Francis W. Parker School in Chicago. Together, they are reshaping the early childhood learning experience in the digital age with a series of fun, interactive classroom games for the Apple iPad. The lessons children learn at this critical stage will activate higher learning as they grow, and through play, they can find a love of learning that will carry through into adulthood. 
Why do you care?
Children as young as two are already playing on touch-screen devices at home. These new technologies are becoming prevalent in the classroom, so it is important to find the most effective ways to use technology to teach kids. 
 
Mrs. Judd's Games believes that childhood learning in the virtual world should still have the ring of authenticity. That's why each of their games is designed with elements and ideas children experience in everyday life, allowing them to connect with the educational concepts on a deeper level while still having fun. Our games are colorful, engaging and designed by passionate and talented developers.
