Ideavation develops technology solutions for hospitality that helps make wine and spirits more accessible to the everyday consumer. Their flagship product is called Uncorkd, an electronic wine and beverage menu platform that allows restaurants to manage an iPad menu in real-time.
When most people sit down in a restaurant and are presented with a wine list, they are overwhelmed, not recognizing any of the dozens or hundreds of bottles on the menu. So they order the cheapest bottle, or don't order wine at all. With Uncorkd, customers can read about the wine, see pictures of the label, where it comes from and get recommendations based on the dish they'll be eating.

Restaurants using Ideavation's software and implementing iPad wine and beverage menus in their restaurant increase their wine sales 20% to 35% while also enabling customers to have a more enjoyable meal. Other benefits for the restaurant include enhanced staff training, ability to update their menu in real-time and reduced time and money spent printing paper menus. Their vision is to transform the hospitality market by making wine a more enjoyable experience for consumers. On the technology side, they are building some really neat things in big data, analytics, search performance, and mobile/tablet software.
