September has long felt like the New Year for many of us in academic settings a we prepare to welcome new faces, enthusiastic in beginning their educational journey either as students, faculty or staff at Drexel. We comment on how quickly the last year flew by - even with this summer's heat - ring out the old and toast the new.

LIBRARIES LAUNCH NEW SOFTWARE TO STREAMLINE RESERVES MANAGEMENT

ares logo Faculty please note: Starting this Fall term, all course reserves requests and materials (except for DUCoM courses) will be made via the Course Tools > Course Reserves Administration module in Blackboard Learn, called "Ares."  Ares also will guide and document Fair Use determinations for materials when needed.  Ares connects directly with Blackboard Learn, and faculty will be able to request materials online, track reserves processing and receive notifications when materials are available for classes.  More>>>

INPUT TO IMPLEMENTATION: 24-HOUR LAPTOP LENDING PILOT COMING SOON

The Libraries will begin an exciting new pilot during fall term, offering laptop lending to students 24 hours a day via a lending kiosk in W. W. Hagerty Library's Bookmark Caf�. This new kiosk will provide convenience and security to students who do not wish to travel late at night with their personal computers. More >>> 

LIBRARIES PARTICIPATES IN PHILADELPHIA YOUTH NETWORK'S WORKREADY PROGRAM FOR SECOND SUMMER  
The Libraries welcomed three new faces to the staff during summer 2012 -- WorkReady students Titus Matthews, Jada Robinson and Ola Sharaf. The three worked at the Libraries for several weeks during their summer break, building professional skills and gaining insight into the world of higher education. More >>> 
  

LIBRARIES HOSTS ORIENTATION TO WELCOME NEW DREXEL EMPLOYEES WORKING AT THE ACADEMY OF NATURAL SCIENCES
