 With the start of a new year, we feel refreshed to think about the future. In this segment of our newsletter, I want to offer a preface to what will be reported in coming months. There are two particularly exciting tasks ahead.
By end of the calendar year we hope to complete the renovation of the W.W. Hagerty Library. Mechanical upgrades, replaced carpets, and reupholstered furniture were completed over the past couple of years with special focus on refreshing the second floor and starting on the entry floor.  The Libraries' 2011 Annual Report is now available online and is mobile optimized for use on smart phone or tablet devices. The report summarizes the 2011 fiscal year, including the opening of the Library Learning Terrace, planning for the Future Search Conference, staff accomplishments, happenings and numbers from the past year. DRAGONS ON THE GRIDIRON: A HISTORY OF FOOTBALL AT DREXEL

 January will bring football to the first floor of W. W. Hagerty Library as the Libraries open Dragons on the Gridiron, a new exhibition that traces the history of football at Drexel, on and off the field. Featuring historic photographs, game programs and other documents -- as well as materials on loan from alumni who played football at Drexel -- the exhibition will explore the passion, the excitement and the hard work inherent in the nation's favorite sport.
