Rockin' Good Time at the

Annual DDRC Stampede Breakfast!

The sun was shinin' and the band was a-rockin' at the DDRC's Stampede Breakfast on Thursday, July 12!

In the early hours of the morning over thirty volunteers helped totransform the 1st floor parking lot of our main office into a rustic ranch, complete with hay bayles, gingham table cloths and western decor.

While Terry the pony from Horses R Cool Riding School posed for pictures and snacked on his hay, over 700 people enjoyed their pancakes, sausages, coffee, and juice as the Back Road Traveler band belted out some great country tunes. The Killarney Recreation Centre line

dancers entertained the audience, and even had a few breakfasters get up off their hay bales to dance along with them!

Seven local businesses donated prizes for the grand prize: Pho Express Vietnamese restaurant,

A big thanks as well to Pamela and Stephanie Won for their donation of 2 Complete Evening One Show Passes to Stage West Theatre, in honour of the late Melanie Won.

Adding to all the excitement, the Stampede Royalty

stopped by the DDRC for a visit! These three lovely ladies took thetime to visit with employees, clients, and other guests to take photographs, and sign autographs. Who would have thought our Stampede Breakfast would turn into a red carpet event!?

Our dedicated volunteers kept things running smoothly, and their hard work definitely paid off! This year's breakfast went off without a hitch. As the last few pancakes were served out, and Terry the pony made his way back to the ranch, the crowd was in great spirits. It is hard to believe that the 100th Calgary Stampede has come and gone, but what a way to end the centennial celebrations! Thank you to everyone who made this year's Stampede Breakfast such a success!
