It's confusing. So much advice out there, and, when you think about it, everything goes. Some say you have a plan and focus, others say, try out many things in order to discover what works. Some say go with your instinct, others, have a written plan. Some say learn from others' mistakes, others say experience is the best teacher. You go to a workshop and learn a lot, implement some, and getting moving in an area of your life. Another comes out with nothing, and their life stays the same. You are told you must work hard to get good grades to make it in life, you know someone who didn't, and has.
It 's all very confusing.
In fact, it's all about you and how you feel about the way your life is going. Are you happy? Do you really like what you are doing, where you are going? Are the results you are getting the ones you hoped for, the ones you wanted? Are the relationships you are forming the ones you want? Do you look yourself in the mirror and say, well done! I am so proud of you?
Thing is, you are the only one who can answer these questions. Sure, a good friend, a parent, a coach, mentor, consultant, may give you pointers based on what they observe, using what they know or have been trained on. In the end, it is up to you to confirm for yourself whether their observations are correct or not. And it is up to you to make the decision to do things differently if that is what it comes to.
So, back to all that confusing advice: through whose lens are you looking at it?
Two people can look at the same thing and see completely different things. So don't wait for someone to tell you the solution to whatever you are dealing with. It will, at best , be only a guide. In the end you are the only one who knows what really cuts, what you are willing to give and give up, how much you can take, how far you are ready to go.
See all the advice out there as possibilities, then pick the possibility that works for you.
No one else can dream your dream.
