You have great ideas, but you don't act on them. You just talk, people say, but don't do. You have plans, you just don't get round to implementing them.
Why don't you just get going?
Purpose and Vision are not enough: You must put in the work.
Last week I wrote about limiting beliefs, and how they get in the way of making your plans work. Today I want to talk about self motivation.
If you do not have an inspiring motivating purpose, you won't do anything. Certainly not the things that will get you to implement your plan. Without your own motivating purpose, other people's agenda's will take over. You are like a car without fuel. It doesn't matter how powerful the engine is. It will not move.
But you also need a clear vision. If you don't know where you are going, you may fill up your car and get it moving, but you could end up in the middle of nowhere, or worse, exactly where you didn't want to be.
Take time out every so often to check on your vision. To put it in focus. To take a snapshot.
And yet, purpose and vision are nothing if you don't put in the work that's needed, or make the sacrifices that are needed. If you don't put in the work to make your plans work, who will?
