Transition into your own business: two real life stories |

In last week's article on minimizing start up costs, I spoke about some of the things you can do to ease the process of going into full time business for yourself. One of the suggestions was to starting off while still employed. This week I share the stories of two small business entrepreneurs, who did just that, although in different ways, and from very different levels. MA supplies accessories for finishing interiors and SM is a taxi operator. These two individuals started off under very different circumstances, but both of them had some contact with the business they eventually developed, before they went full time
MA was a high flying executive until she was retrenched more than 5 years ago. During her travels she used to buy household accessories and then sell them to individuals upon her return. When the salaried job was no more, she picked up on this, and began to do it on a larger scale. I asked MA to share her challenges.Read more... |
