School Advisory Council Meeting

Remember! Only 2 more weeks to self-nominate for SAC membership

The primary responsibility of the Switzerland Point Middle School (SPMS) School Advisory Council (SAC) members is assisting in the preparation and evaluation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP) while simultaneously developing the consensus among the total school community necessary to implement the SIP successfully. Details of SAC responsibilities are as follows:

10. To perform other activities as required by DOE and the St. Johns County School Board

11. The SAC will not involve itself directly with the day to day decisions and operational policies, unless requested, of the School, but will ensure that all activities are consistent with established goals and are designed to move the School and students toward those goals.

12. The fiscal year for the SAC will be July 1st to June 30th.

SPMS RECYCLES!!
Switzerland Point has a new paper recycling company called SP. The large metal container is located behind our school, in the bus loop. We have office aides that will be picking up paper for recycling on a weekly basis from the classrooms. You can help our school and the environment by saving your paper for us at home and sending it in with your student. We also welcome any paper that your work place wants to recycle but please make sure it is not more that what your student can carry, and that you drop it off in clear plastic bags. SP will accept newspaper, white paper and magazines. They will NOT accept trash, plastic bags, phone books or cardboard. In addition to the paper recycling program, this year we will also be recycling all the plastic bottles and aluminum cans from lunch. We know that this effort will save our school district money by reducing our waste volume and will keep thousands of bottles and cans from ending up in our landfills.
