There are many steps to setting up a successful business. For twelve years, here at Uncle Harry's, we have been helping folks start up their own appliance repair business. This newsletter highlights one of those steps - website setup. Today every service business should have its own website. It's essential to your success and inexpensive to setup.

Uncle Harry's Expert Web In recent months I have found that more and more students are using the web to promote their new appliance repair businesses inexpensively. Dave Gibson, in Scottsdale, AZ, was the first to bring this to my attention. See his site: Arizona Appliance Repair.
Dave told me about Google Maps and how that free service promotes local businesses. In no time, he was getting 10-20 service calls a month from a simple website. I had thought of the web as a national concept. Not so.
Other students have been reporting good success too. I even tested and proved it with my own localized website for my own personal service calls. It is the new way that people search for services. To assist students we are offering a new product, Uncle Harry's Expert Web, which provides design and hosting of a website customized to your zipcode and services. We will maximize your site for local traffic, get you on Google Maps and provide linking to other Uncle Harry Expert Websites. Success in Vail, CO
Last spring Channing Van Goey opened his new appliance repair business. His previous business, like so many, was doing poorly in our crummy economy. After studying the books and videos for about three months he began to advertise and his business took off. He got so many calls from his door hangers that he was getting panicky. Listen to what he has to say about his startup.
My chuckle came when his wife, on the sly, purchased a loaded up iPod Touch for him as a Christmas present. Listen to his thoughts on the loaded iPod Touch he uses.
Channing's story is typical of many others around the country. For a second sample listen to Charles Matheis. Many others are available on my testimonials page. |
iPod Touch - Technician In Your Pocket
Have you seen a demonstration of my new " Technician In Your Pocket"? It's an iPod with over 200 repair videos and service manuals. It's a real hoot; I use it myself. They work just fine on the iPhone too.
At the insistence of my tech savvy children, I reformatted my online videos for use on an iPod. I also added many technician crib sheets needed for interpreting error codes on all the newest models. You can even listen to the audio on your car radio while heading to a service call.
