Quote of the Week

"In an age when man has forgotten his origins and is blind even to his most essential needs for survival, water along with other resources has become the victim of his indifference."

                                                                          __
 Descanso Gardens

Propagate new plants from cuttings during the warmer months of late spring through summer. When cut, they exude a milky-like latex that may irritate sensitive skin, so wear protective gloves when handling.

Did You Know?

There is a cricket chirping formula for temperature known as Dolbear's Law. In 1898 Amos Dolbear observed that the warmer the weather, the more chirping by crickets. After studying crickets and the rate they chirped based on temperature, he came up with an equation to estimate the outdoor temperature. The faster, simpler version of his method is to count the number of chirps in 15 seconds and add 40.
