We are always seeking new sponsors to assist with our ATEO Seminars.  Clorox offers products to assist in the cleaning of facilities and the prevention of disease transmission.  Their formula provides confident, convenient disinfecting with every application when used as directed.

Clorox Pro Quaternary All-Purpose Disinfectant Cleaner is a line of defense against both MRSA and CA-MRSA.  It combines powerful cleaning and hospital-grade disinfecting in a no-rinse formula.  Clorox is safe for use on multiple surfaces such as stainless steel, sealed granite, shower stalls, glazed ceramic tiles, synthetic turf, etc.

Clorox Hand Sanitizer is part of the Clorox Commercial Solutions brand and kills a broad spectrum of microorganisms.  Its unique spray-form provides excellent hand coverage; and the 71% ethyl alcohol formula contains a higher alcohol concentration than most hand sanitizers.

Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy in Sports Medicine

The Sports Medicine team has tremendous challenges in dealing with torn ligaments and shredded tendons.  Muscle tears provide significant obstacles to athletes in their attempts to return to pre-injury status.

As long as I worked in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine, it has been a challenge to seek out the best standards of care - the safest methods of treatment with minimized risk and proven outcomes.  Thus is the challenge today in evaluation PRP therapy relative to evidence-based medicine.

The procedure involves a physician taking a small vial of a patient's blood, about 30 milliliters, and spin it in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the other components. The concentrated platelets are then injected into the site of the patient's injury. In theory, the growth factors that platelets secrete (not including human growth hormone) spur tissue recovery.

Like so many treatments, PRP therapy has evolved from other areas of medicine and has been applied since the mid-1990s to aid bone healing after spinal injury and soft tissue recovery following plastic surgery.

Rokovitz Joins ICON Medical

John Miller has recently launched ICON Medical, the only manufacturers' representative company focused solely on the sports medicine industry.  Miller's experience in the industry is as Owner/President of Econoline Products, Inc. and President of Sports Health, a division of School Health Corporation.

Now Miller is joined by talented Tom Rokovitz who most recently worked as one of Sports Health's Territory Managers and prior to that worked for Henry Schein and Micro Bio-Medics.  Tom's 23 years of experience in the sports medicine industry are essential in matching Icon Medical's mission to insure that it brings the best products from the best manufacturers to the high school, college and professional sports athletic trainers.

Congratulations to John and Tom as you work to grow your business at ICON Medical.
