WHAT IS THE CANADIAN PUBLIC POLICY COLLECTION?

An online service for libraries, the CPPC provides a curated and regularly updated collection of significant monographs in French & English from Canadian public policy institutes, government agencies, advocacy groups, think-tanks, university research centres and other public interest groups.

There are over 19,000 titles in the current (2004-2011) collection, and the service provides more than 3,000 additional current documents to subscribers each year.

This newsletter offers a sampling of some key titles just delivered to subscribers in the current issue. Each hyperlink in the list on the right will take you to the title as displayed in the Preview site and the "Access PDF" link will take you to the document itself; this is an additional service provided to all CPPC subscribers.

You can see the first few pages of each title in all documents in the collection on the CPPC Preview Site. IP authentication is required for full document viewing, but the search features are active to demonstrate the way a library user would interact with the collection.

We hope this brief introduction will encourage you to explore CPPC further.

PROVINCIAL ELECTION PLATFORMS

Platforms often disappear from party websites soon after the election.  This fall, with elections in five provinces and two territories, CPPC is preserving all the platforms that we can find in PDF.  The Ontario platforms are now available, as are some from Manitoba and Newfoundland & Labrador, with more to come next month.
