Publishers Endorse Library eBook Use
To demonstrate their commitment to promoting the u se of ebooks in libraries, a group of leading publishers is offering purchase incentives to libraries on their titles in CEL. They have released a significant portion of their in-print lists through CEL. And some are releasing current frontlist, which will be included in the offer as it becomes available. Publishers included in the offer to date are shown here. (Click on each logo to preview the publishers' titles).
Over 2,000 titles, primarily Canadian non-fictio n, are currently included in the offer. Although some are available for library licensing from ebook vendors on a title-by-title basis, these titles have never before been offered in an online package.
This is an ideal way to build an online collection of Canadiana that will be owned by your library system in perpetuity.

| Grey House Canadian Directories
Canada's leading publisher of directory information has released five of its key directories for inclusion in the Canadian Electronic Library.
This important content is now being offered under a special perpetual access license to CEL subscribers. This new collection offers an effective way of making this content conveniently available to all library users with no wait time.
Orders for the complete collection of 5 directories at the discounted price of $1,118 will also receive two back issues of each -- an extra value of $2,970 -- without additional charge. This offers a great way to offer access to back issues of the directories to all users without using shelf space.

The Benefits of CEL for Libraries

CANADIAN CONTENT
Over 13,000 online books from more than 60 Canadian publishers as well as tens of thousands of reports in the news from think tanks, public pressure groups and government agencies.

UBIQUITY
All titles are available to any cardholder with an internet connection; anytime, anywhere.
 SIMPLICITY
No user education is required. A link from your OPAC takes the cardholder directly to the book.
CURRENCY
Each month, CEL subscribers gain access to new titles from participating publishers with no additional cost.
 DISCOVERABILITY
Our free MARC records, created by SLC of Victoria, BC, are the best in the business. Because they now contain OCLC numbers, when you load our MARC records your library becomes a "local destination" for a WorldCat search for any title you hold.
 AFFORDABILITY
The cost of a subscription is pennies per title for entire library boards or school systems.
