What is the Canadian Public Policy Collection?

The CPPC is an online service for libraries, providing a curated and regularly updated collection of significant monographs from Canadian public policy institutes, government agencies, advocacy groups, think-tanks, university research centres and other public interest groups. The organizations included in this collection represent the leading edge of primary research and opinion in all areas of Canadian public policy. Their publications are vital to the understanding of developing issues in every arena of Canadian public life.

There are over 16,000 titles in the current (2004-2010) collection, and the service provides more than 3,000 additional current documents to subscribers each year.

Access is universal, perpetual, and available equally to all library users in a system or institution, regardless of location. Any item in the collection is available to all users simultaneously, and sophisticated search tools allow for quick location of items of interest.

This newsletter offers a sampling of some key titles just delivered to subscribers in the current issue. Each hyperlink in the list on the right will take you to the title as displayed in the Preview site.

And the "Access PDF" link will take you to the document itself; this is an additional service provided to all CPPC subscribers.

You can see all documents in the collection on the CPPC Preview Site. This displays only the first few pages of each title; IP authentication is required for full document viewing. But the search features are active to demonstrate the way in which a library user would interact with the collection.

We hope this brief introduction will encourage you to explore CPPC further.
