Canadian Health Research Collection

CHRC is an online collection of monograph publications from Canadian research institutes, government agencies and university centres working in the area of health and medical research. The organizations included in this collection are active publishers of primary research in the field. The publications included are both general policy documents as well as those of a specialized technical nature.

There are over 5,000 titles in the current (2004-2009) collection, and the service provides more than 1600 additional current documents to subscribers each year.

Jim Henderson, McGill"CHRC addresses an important problem, with information on the Canadian health care system not well indexed or distributed. Much useful information is hidden in technical reports of research bodies, varying from university research institutes to think tanks such as the Fraser Institute. Even though many are available in electronic form on the Internet, these publications are difficult for libraries to make accessible."

 Jim Henderson, McGill University

Penny Logan"Canadian Publishers Collection offers an interesting array of publishers and titles, and the price is affordable. This is an excellent Canadian product."

Penny Logan, Hospital Librarian, Halifax

Other Health Library Resources from ebrary

Health information centres often need to provide their users with a broad range of materials on a limited budget. Ebrary's catalogue of over 170,000 online titles is filled with material from leading medical and scientific publishers, including Wiley, Johns Hopkins Press, McGraw-Hill, Springer-Kluwer, the World Health Organization, and hundreds of others. The most economical way for specialized libraries to access this content is by means of a subscription service, under which new titles are continuously added as they become available from publishers.
