Play On, Salina
with the Salina Area United Way's Born Learning Trail.
This month, Salina Area United Way is promoting an exciting opportunity for Salina - a Born Learning Trail. A Born Learning Trail is an engaging path of interactive activities that helps parents promote language and pre-literacy skills, motor skills and school readiness in their young children. The Salina Area United Way is working
to advance youth health and kindergarten readiness as a community priority with this one of a kind trail. We are encouraging volunteers of all ages to join us in Oakdale Park on October 20 for a day of volunteering and building the trail.

The Born Learning Trail is part of a larger United Way public engagement campaign, which consists of informational materials and an online resource site found HERE. It is
designed to provide families with information about how to turn everyday activities, from running errands to doing laundry, into learning opportunities for young children. The campaign is built on the idea that children are born learning, and that even the smallest interactions with parents, grandparents and caregivers can encourage their development and school readiness. The Salina Area United Way's Born Learning campaign is part of our ongoing commitment to strengthen our community through leadership, partnership, and investment and to help promote kindergarten readiness in Saline County.
