The Salina Area United Way is pleased to announce the implementation of its 2013 to 2015 Community Improvement Grant Process.  In preparation for this process 18 certified partners participated in the revision of the grant application and were trained by community volunteers on review guidelines and expectations.  

On May 16 and 17, 2012, over 60 community volunteers were trained in the same grant application process.  Volunteers are currently completing their individual review and scoring of the 18 applications.  United Priority Cabinet Chair and SAUW board member Tama Davidson stated, "This is huge opportunity for our community.  Over the next few weeks representatives from 12 different community sectors including businesses and individuals that donate to United Way will be prioritizing goals for the next three years to strategically strengthen our community.  This is the ultimate example of what it means to LIVE UNITED."  

Four volunteer panels will meet two different times to discuss applications. Final recommendations will be made to the SAUW board of directors in July.
