Summer is my favorite season and I often ask people how many summers do you or I have left? A sobering thought, but it makes me want to take advantage of the time I have rather than squander it.
Summer can be the best time to build a business!
I often work more efficiently and faster so I can do the things I like to do outside. I don't do the things that will never make my business grow. I get to the point, promising myself, if I get through the list of the most important calls to make, I can take a nice break. I love it because the kids are off from school, vacations have people more relaxed and in a state of mind where they are willing to look at an opportunity. A lot of people are looking for something to do when the fall comes, when the kids go back to school.
Be creative in building your business in summer. Here are a few ideas to implement to increase your business right away.
Have your contacts over with their children if you have children. I used to have a nice shady spot for us to sit and talk, while watching our children play in the sandbox. Have a nice cool glass of lemonade while discussing business. People are relaxed and enjoying the time with you.
You could have a BBQ and invite all your team with a guest or two each over for an outdoor barbeque or beside the pool. You can have everyone bring their special dish as a potluck! Have a short message on the opportunity and serve Xocai chocolate for dessert. You could have an outdoor party as an award for a contest you had for who excelled or moved up the rank. People always love a party and very few want to be left out. Most people will work for recognition more than they will for money. Taking your people on a boat on the lake or river near you might get them working towards a goal.
A good idea is to have your group all want to move up the ladder together. Have a plan that includes everyone and celebrate it together. Just make sure it's fun, like having a fireworks display during the party. I love the unexpected!
Getting creative with your business is pretty simple; sometimes it just takes thinking outside the box. Building a business during the summertime months is typically a time when most people think they cannot build and make an impact in their business, however, look at the biggest businesses out there, do they shut their doors during the summertime? No, they come up with creative ways to get people in the door. If you think everyone has left the city, drive home in rush hour. It's what your attitude reflects, is what you come to believe!
I remember in one business, a colleague said he was ready to move to the next rank Dec.1. At first, I couldn't believe it. With this company it took a month and Christmas was right around the corner. I ran out and got all my gifts in the last few days of November and helped him get to where he needed to be as well as myself. It was the first time that anyone in that company ever moved to the next rank in December in over 35 years. Why? Because it was impossible? No, because everyone believed it couldn't be done!
Never shut the doors and always be open for business. Momentum is the key. When you have momentum, you must keep it going. Remember, what you do now will show you what your business will look like in the next 3 months!
Don't let the summer time spoil your dreams and allow you to get derailed from all that you want to achieve with your business. What do you want to accomplish?

It was 3 years ago that Kim MacIsaac introduced me to Xocai. It was at a time in our lives that was extremely difficult as we were dealing with the implications of significant health diagnoses in our family. I wasn't looking for a business - I just wanted to eat chocolate!! All of our plans and dreams changed very suddenly and life was not going where we had expected it to. For a long time I felt like I was drowning, but the support of my friends that I made with Xocai gave me strength that helped me through it all.
Last summer my family and I went on a vacation together for the first time in a long time. It was on that trip that my WHY became very clear to me and that was what I needed. It was the swimming lessons, I needed to stop drowning and get out of the pool. I never expected this to be the direction my life took, but I feel blessed that this is where I am. We have our dreams back, and they are bigger and better than ever. My husband and I are working on our dreams together. What could be better!
Not only have I grown tremendously as a person, but I have been able to witness the joy and emotion that goes with personal development for others as well. I have watched the transformation as new friends have discovered their "why" and I've seen light-bulbs go off over and over again. I realized that what I'm doing is making a difference in the lives of others and there is no better feeling in the world than that. During my advancement to Platinum, I was a part of 10 other rank advancements on my team - that's how it happens. It was not about me advancing, it was about helping everyone else advance and being there and supporting them.
I have the best team that anyone could ask for, the most amazing support system, and I have found my niche and my home.

Having been in Network Marketing for over 21 years I was well aware of the power of residual income. I had become very successful in the business, had retired from my Dental Practice at 37 to work in this industry full time as I had experienced how leveraging and geometric progression leading to a royalty income can provide a dream lifestyle. Accountability Check-ins! Last summer I was working with a Life/Business Coach, and she suggested it might be a good idea if I was 'accountable' to one of my Upline every day, detailing the actions I had taken that day in my Xocai business. I was willing, and REALLY wanted to move my business forward, so I asked Judy Daniel, my Upline Double Diamond, if she'd be willing to receive and read my accountability emails Mondays-Fridays. She graciously and enthusiastically said YES! I started them last October, and did them every Monday thru Friday (minus some days when on vacation, etc.) for EIGHT MONTHS. About halfway through the eight months, David/Sunwolf, my Upline Platinum, asked to receive them, too, which was a great way for him to be aware of my Xocai activities! The format (suggested by Judy) for my daily Check-ins, was the following categories: Prospecting/Recruiting, Inviting, Presentation, Follow-up, Enrollment.
These daily accountability emails helped get me into DAILY ACTION, because each time I didn't FEEL like making that call, or felt too BUSY to make that call, I remembered that I was going to be sending my Accountability Check-in to Judy and David that evening, and I didn't want to have a blank Check-in!! Judy and David emailed me encouragement, kudos, tips, ideas, etc, when they had something to say, and it was SO helpful. I learned a lot in this process, especially that I wasn't focusing on Recruiting, Inviting, and Presenting as much as would be effective to grow my business! So, because of this process and new awareness, I'm now doing those activities much more!! RESULTS!! More new Business Builders and Associates on my Team than ever before in an 8-month period, AND I earned the Alaska cruise - FIRST Xocai cruise I've earned!!
I transitioned recently into daily Accountability emails with a Xocai crossline friend, and that's working great, too! It keeps me present to 'taking action', and it helps me see at the end of each day what I've done in my Xocai business. Very satisfying and motivating! Thank you, Judy and David, for reading and commenting on all those Accountability emails!! And for all I learned! I am so grateful for both of you, and for ALL of my FABULOUS Upline Support!!! I highly recommend having a Xocai Accountability buddy! See where it takes your business, and your personal growth!
