    Relationships First, Business Second

One of the great business building principles to practice is just what the title says. If we focus on relationships, the rest will come. Making and keeping friends is vital to your life In a network marketing business, it's the same concept that we never compromise the friendship above making the sale. In fact, one famous networker remarked that his major goal is to make a million friends, knowing that that would translate into a very powerful business! Sometimes we are so focused on building our business and getting to that next level that we forget our relationships, and that they are what makes life special.

Sacrificing the relationship over getting the sale is not what we want to do now or ever.

I want to share with you some keys to building quality relationships that come from Mr. Dale Carnegie himself. If you don't know who Dale Carnegie is, I suggest you run down to your local bookstore and pick up a book he wrote called, "How to win friends and influence people". It will be one of the greatest investments you will ever make to purchase and read that book. Here are some keys to building more quality relationships:

  1. Don't criticize, condemn or complain.
  2. Give honest, sincere appreciation.
  3. Arouse in the other person an eager want.
  4. Become genuinely interested in other people.
  5. Smile.
  6. Remember that a person's name is the sweetest and most important sound in any language.
  7. Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
  8. Talk in terms of the other person's interests.
  9. Make the other person feel important and do it sincerely.

Here are some other points on winning people to your way of thinking.

  1. The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it.
  2. Show respect for the other person's opinion. Never say "you're wrong."
  3. If you are wrong, admit it quickly and emphatically.
  4. Begin in a friendly way.
  5. Get the other person saying, "yes, yes" immediately.
  6. Let the other person do a great deal of the talking.
  7. Let the other person feel that the idea is his or hers.
  8. Try honestly to see things from the other person's point of view.
  9. Be sympathetic with the other person's ideas and desires.
  10. Appeal to the nobler motives.

I would suggest taking these points and putting them on some 3×5 cards and carrying them around with you and look at them often. By doing this you will eventually internalize them and practice them without even having to think about it.

We win in network marketing by how well we relate to and work with people.

This is a people business and the more you learn to work with people, the greater success you will have.

In The Spotlight
Gail

My husband's long term co-worker, golf buddy and friend came to visit one Saturday afternoon. He was looking spiffy and happy and our first thoughts were, wonder what's up with Kelvin! He put a Prosper magazine on my kitchen table and a handful of Xocai chocolate. Kelvin told us about how this girl named Julia was passing through town, stopped at Chatters to buy some shampoo, got talking to and sharing chocolate with Trinda, Kelvin's sister, and mentioned how this chocolate was helping people with glaucoma. Trinda told Julia that she needed to talk to her brother because his wife, Marion was going blind quickly from glaucoma. Julia signed up Trinda, Trinda signed up Kelvin, and they all got eating chocolate. Of course they all started feeling the results. Kelvin was having a little trouble getting going, all the guys at work just wanted to eat his chocolate as long as he was giving it away free. He was getting frustrated!   When he came to our house that Saturday afternoon, he knew that I knew a little about home based business and a fair bit about health and wellness.   He then told me he is going to retire with the chocolate industry. At first we thought he had lost his mind, but Phil convinced me to be polite, eat his chocolate and read the magazine. Well, I thought that sounded pretty easy. Kelvin left, Phil and I ate all the chocolates in less than 5 min. (5 or 6) he left a nice variety.

Being an EX DIET CENTER FRANCHISE OWNER OPERATOR (3centers) when I started reading about the wellness program and how they ate chocolate and lost weight. That alone caught my eye! Never had I heard of such a thing. Chocolate and weight loss in the same sentence sounded like a million dollar idea, but a little too GOOD TO BE TRUE??? Then I began to read the health benefit testimonials. We were interested, but I wanted to run it by my friend Liz. They were coming for dinner that Sunday, so I ran into town to Kelvin's and bought a week worth of chocolates from him so I could give Liz and Andrea a taste when they came for a visit. I told Liz that Kelvin had a call coming in at 5pm and we were welcome to come. I had all afternoon to let Liz try chocolates and read the prosper magazine while I got dinner prepared. We convinced the guys to hold off on dinner while we ran over to Kelvin's for what became our first of many calls with Temple. We had to leave in a hurry as we had our hungry men waiting and they were already not that impressed that their plans had been altered. Well, the adventure begins. I was carrying my new winter tires on rims in the back of our Toyota 4 runner, when I went to take off from Kelvin's road, onto Highway 16 west, the tires rolled back, the latch flew open and my new snow tires were gone. Liz and I were so engulfed in conversation we didn't notice right away. The search began for the tires. Let me paint you a picture, it is pitch black, we are in the middle of nowhere, no flashlight.

To make a long story shorter, Liz and I looked for the tires for 2 hours. Liz finally spotted something way up on a hill. It was the headlights shinning on the silver of one of the rims. Sure enough we found all the tires in the same vicinity. The moral of the story has become "WE WERE NOT LOOKING HIGH ENOUGH".   Liz and I laughed ourselves silly! We were very intrigued by the Xocai products, but at that point a little skeptical. Liz has access to the Internet and I don't, so she said she would go home and do some research on the Xocai products. You must understand my friend Liz; she is well researched in health and wellness. Way more than me. A short time later she called me and said we have our hands on a SUPPER FOOD!   Meanwhile Phil and I had discussed trying the Xocai wellness program for a couple of months to see if it would help him, I just wanted to loose my spare tire. I borrowed another box of chocolates from Kelvin, kept his prosper magazine, put in our first order, shortly later Liz wanted to jump on board. The more she studied, the more excited she got. During this time I shared a chocolate with Pat one afternoon when she came to my mothers to show her how to do SendOutCards. Pat went home that day and a strange thing happened. She wasn't her normal starving self. Pat thought mmm... and started doing some of her own research. Pat started learning more about the antioxidants and how the Xocai product is helping people with MS. Pat's daughter suffers with MS so her reason is huge. Next thing I know Pat calls for my ID number so she could sign herself up. I thought wow that was easy.   I had barely left the farm and I had 2 sign ups and I didn't even have my first order. At that time I didn't know anything about the compensation plan, and neither did I care, I just wanted to see if the healthy chocolate was delivering results. All of a sudden I had two beautiful, smart, incredible women that I admire working right along side of me. CHOCOLATE MANIA BEGAN!!!

OUR TESTIMONIAL AFTER 3 MONTHS OF BEING ON

THE XOCAI WELLNESS PROGRAM

Phil's Blood Pressure was 175 over 105, last recorded 145 over 95. Very recent Phil had severe sleep apnea and stopped breathing 28 times an hour. One week after starting our chocolate diet, he started sleeping peacefully through the night. I couldn't believe it.

We have not spent the whole night in the same bed for 2 years because of his restlessness, and we have not spent a night apart since! Phil's severe eczema is totally under control. We apply the shakes topically. 3 days of that, almost gone, 5 days, gone! AMAZING! Also, he suffers from a chronic foot pain, a result of another injury, has disappeared. Phil is impressed! Phil is like a new man! The best part for myself is his mood much improved mood! Thank you Xocai!

As for me, I have lost my "SPARE TIRE" not the cars. I have gone from a size 14 to size 7-8. My chronic hip and shoulder pain seem to be gone and we both have so much more energy we feel like we are getting younger. Our skin is also improving!

Now a little about the business, I went BRONZE on Christmas Day, [a whirl wind in my life] and we have been HAVING A BLAST EVER SINCE!   MAYBE WE WILL BE ABLE TO KEEP PULLING THOSE WEEDS AFTER ALL!

WE LOVE OUR GARDEN AND OUR SAYING IS "ALL THINGS THAT GROW, STARTS WITH ONE TINY SEED, SO IT IS WITH LOVE" WITH XOCAI OUR SAYING IS "ALL THINGS THAT GROW, STARTS WITH SHARING ONE NUGGET!"

I know this is long winded, but it is what it is!

Thank you XOCAI for your products and your plan!

Thank you Temple for holding us together while we try to learn

Thank you to the P.G. Girls for shinning like bright stars that light my path

My name is Gary Russell and I am an Executive with MXI and live in Georgetown, Montana.
I wanted to tell you a fantastic story that has happened in the recent couple of weeks which i am so excited and honored to share!
Not  many people are aware of this but Jeanette Brooks is a native of my hometown, Butte, Montana. I discovered this while talking to Jeanette during last years convention in Indianapolis.
My daughter and son in law, Enrique and Michelle Martinez, Gold executives with MXI, suggested this last fall that I approach the local Butte paper called the Montana standard, and see if they would consider writing an article highlighting Jeanette and her incredible contributions to the world of health and wellness. We realized that her being a "Butte Native" would be especially be impressive to not only Butte but also, the state of Montana. The people in Montana are very community-based and love grassroots success! So, I took the initiative and contacted the paper to propose writing the article.

They got back to me and were very impressed with all Jeanette had accomplished and that they wanted to write the article! I was so ecstatic! I decided to check and make sure that this was possible so, Javier, Andrew Brooks assistant, forwarded my email requesting permission to write the article to Jeanette.
On a snowy day, last week, I was working on some emails for Xocai and wondering who next to contact when I received a personal call from Jeanette! I was so impressed and delighted that she would take the time to call me!
As we all know, Jeanette is an exceedingly compassionate
and loving person. It was evident during our conversation that she has not forgotten her Butte "roots" and is on a mission to help people worldwide become more healthy, while affording everyone the possibility to help themselves financially.

She has such fond memories of Butte, and a true love for the "Mining City".
She was born in the Butte Silver Bow Hospital, and went to the Emerson and Hawthorne schools until she was 12 years old.  In fact, my wife's aunt Mary taught Jeanette in third grade at the Emerson! What a small world!
She mentioned a few fond memories to me of Butte, such as the family saving their dimes, nickels, and pennies to go up to Pork Chop Johns on Friday nights for a special treat; skating on frozen ponds on Butte's street corners and backyards; her mother loving to go to Lydia's for lobster, etc.  I believe all (or most of) her aunts, uncles, and grandparents were born in Butte.

As we all know, she has had an exceedingly varied and successful career as a master product innovator and marketer, and is just a genuine overall great
person.
More than ever before, I personally feel incredibly blessed and grateful to be a part if such an amazing company. Thank you MXI and Jeanette for taking the time to make me feel so personally important and a special part if this company. I am truly honored.

All the best in 2012 to all!

Gary Russell, Executive
Georgetown, Montana.
