The Iowa Finance Authority is dedicated to consistently listening to our partners and enhancing our programs to make them more efficient, accessible and easier to use than ever before.

 

You spoke - we listened!

After reviewing survey results from participating lenders like you we discovered that you like the programs and believe that they are beneficial for many Iowans, but that the Iowa Finance Authority loan process can be cumbersome.  

 

The Iowa Finance Authority's entire single-family team various participating lenders, our master servicer and other stakeholders recently dedicated a full week to a lean design event where they reviewed every aspect of the Iowa Finance Authority's single-family programs.

 
One of the objectives of the lean design process was to identify ways to streamline our processes to make closing an Iowa Finance Authority loan easier, add more clarity to the process and to ultimately make it faster. We plan on implementing a number of impactful changes to our processes over the next several months with those goals in mind.

 

Among the changes to be implemented include:

• Eliminating unnecessary forms and documents
• Streamlining the compliance review process so that the Iowa Finance Authority is involved earlier in the process
• More active and broader outreach to the lender community
• Assigning each lender an individual Iowa Finance Authority  point of contact
• Simplifying checklists and forms
• Developing better lender incentives
• Streamlining training programs
• and many more ideas!

These changes will not happen overnight. We will implement them over the next several weeks and you will hear from us as we roll them out. We look forward to partnering with you to assist even more Iowans through the FirstHome, FirstHome Plus, Homes for Iowans and Military Homeownership Assistance programs!
