Theme for 2011 Annual Meeting:
Keeping Families Close
At this year's annual meeting, President Richard Mingoia expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the YCS Board of Trustees and all the supporters, volunteers, mentors and staff for attending the meeting and celebrating the agency's accomplishments over the past year. "[These] accomplishments have only been possible thanks to your tremendous dedication," said Mr. Mingoia.
In keeping with the meeting's theme: "Keeping Families Close," everyone received a wristband with the same tagline and YCS web address. Mr. Mingoia recounted the many existing and new in-home, residential and community-based programs that are helping families remain in tact by fulfilling the needs of children with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
Mr. Mingoia then shared with guests his vision for the future of YCS including two new residential programs, employment programs for older youth and the creation of federally qualified health centers to integrate physical and behavioral health care.

Gerry Cooney and Vanessa Tyler wield
their celebrity power on the trading floors to raise money for YCS at BGC Charity Day event
Every year, BGC Partners, Inc., a leading global brokerage company, and Cantor Fitzgerald host BGC Charity Day to raise funds for charitable organizations and commemorate the lives of their 658 employees who perished in the World Trade Center. This year's event raised $12 million (100% of their global revenues on the day) for more than 75 charities around the world. YCS, a New Jersey private non profit social services agency, was one of 19 charities chosen from the tri-state area. Boxing icon Gerry Cooney and TV news reporter Vanessa Tyler were guest celebrities representing YCS. Together with two young men from the program and Jerry Henderson, YCS employee, the YCS delegation introduced many guests to YCS. The young men were awe struck as they got to meet many celebrities including Ben Stiller, Jon Voight, Rex Ryan, Mark Sanchez, Carmelo Anthony, Russell Simmons, John McEnroe and Former Governor David Paterson.
