Networking Tip #02
 Tree Frog
Become a Super Connector
Great networkers enjoy connecting people.  The secret of Positive Networking, discovering what you can do for someone else, is part of their 'DNA' -- their Dynamic Networking Ability.  When they find out what that something is, it's not enough to think about it, they do it.  Work the Pond! calls this high level of awareness, network shepa.

Art Gallery of Viera

"Thank You"

A heartfelt thank you from the Art Gallery of Viera to all of those who helped make our Art of Giving show so incredibly successful. We want to thank those who wrote articles and publicized the event, the Pizza Gallery and Grill for providing the cash bar and nibbles, and our musicians Bo Frazer and Bob Goldberg for donating their time and talent.

Thanks also go to the Art of Giving committee members Barbara Desrosiers, Maria Dockery, Chelly Harkness, Dij Pacarro and Bobbi Q. Brown who worked so hard to put the event together.

Last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank the public for attending. We were so grateful to see such a wonderful turn out on Melissa's behalf. Their generosity was truly heartwarming.

"Tips for Social Media"

We hate to talk about death, but we do need to think about, "What will happen to my social profiles if I die?" When someone dies these days it not only affects those closest to us but there are all those numerous 'friends' on Facebook, 'follower's on Twitter, 'connections' on LinkedIn that wonder where you went when your postings stop.

Your accounts sit in cyberspace and will show up in the newsfeed of your connections and imagine, if you will, how this will affect your family members and close friends if they keep seeing your profile picture every time they log on to their networks.

Each network has a 'death policy' but it takes time, forms and information to get deceased members profiles removed. So we need to be prepared by discussing this with those that are closest to us and, most importantly, have our login information for each account available for our loved one so they can take action on our accounts. You can search the 'help' on each network for the proper forms to remove a deceased member's account, but here are brief instructions for the main 3 social networks.

Facebook - If you are a family member you can memorialize your loved one's profile by filling out a form and giving Facebook the member's user name, password and a death certificate. They will close the account to new friends and no longer have it show up in searches; existing friends and family will still be able to view the posts and add condolences. Facebook also offers an 'If I Die' application that will allow a 'live' member to choose 3 friends that will be given access to their profile, as well as instructions on whether you want your account deleted or memorialized.

Twitter - It is easier to remove an account on Twitter as it allows deletion of a family member's account with notification of death by link to an obituary or death certificate, as well as the member's username and password.

LinkedIn- It is easy to close an account if family members have the account login information; if you don't, you will need to notify LinkedIn of the death of the member by faxing a complete death verification.
