META Awards for The Absent Lover
The Absent Lover

For those of you who are new to our mailing list, we continue to share with you this month our magical night in March in New Delhi where we won 3 national awards for our show The Absent Lover. There are some lovely photos of the awards here - it was a wonderful evening in the gardens of the magnificent Taj hotel - complete with an Academy Awards-style ceremony and 15-foot puppets!

The Absent Lover
is Thresh's first full length production inspired by a 5th century Sanskrit play by Kalidasa. A story of love and loss, a chase in a magical glade, of lovers tested by nature, nymph Urvashi runs away in a fit of jealous rage from king Pururavas who desperately seeks her. Encountered by the magic of nature he is driven from realistic to fantastical 'mind-trips' until he finds his true love.

Enjoy!
