Month Year
This year, Chavagnes International College begins its Lenten term with a blend of blessings and tribulations. We cherish your support during this challenging period, and we hope you will join us in celebrating our successes in this new year.
Mr. McDermott Injured in a Fall
One of the most obvious changes this term is the absence of our headmaster, Mr. Ferdi McDermott. In Mr. McDermott's efforts to repair the school -- ironically, in preparation for a safety inspection -- he fell from a ladder and broke his hip and his wrist. He is currently in the hospital in La Roche-sur-Yon and, while his doctors expect him to recover fully, he is not expected to be able to return to the school this term.

Our acting headmaster, Mr. Philip Gonzales, has stepped into the breach admirably, and is ensuring that the school's regimen of improvement continues. Our bell tower is currently in the process of being repaired, as is the overhang at the front of the school. Many other areas are also being revamped, repaired or at the least repainted.

However, it is difficult to continue in this way without support. Your generosity, always appreciated, is needed now more than ever. Click here to donate.
Shakespeare Week
In spite of the changes mentioned above, the school's Shakespeare Week will be held as planned. The week of 23-27 March, please join us for dramatic readings from the works of the great poet and playwright. This year, we will also be joined by Mr. Peter Bassano, musician, conductor and descendant of the "Dark Lady" of the Bard's famous sonnets. For more information about Shakespeare Week, click here.

Once again, we thank you sincerely for your support, and we hope that you will join us in our prayers and our celebrations this year.
Sincerely,

The Staff
