| Student Performances |  Saturday, 11th December will see two events hosted by the school: At 4pm,a selection of short Medieval Mystery Plays relating the Christmas story; at 6pm, the school's choir will be performing a number of traditional hymns and carols at the traditional Advent Carol Service. The Mystery plays, which illustrate scenes from the Bible, will also feature guest actresses from l'Ecole Notre Dame de la Bonne Nouvelle, and will also provide an image of the earliest phases of English theatre. |
| Father Talbot's Photographs |  On 11th and 12th December, the school's chaplain and photographer-in-residence, Father Anthony Talbot, will be mounting his first one-man exhibtion of his photography in the school's refectory. The expo will showcase a range of Father Talbot's work, including his photographic interpretations of Georges de la Tour's late renaissance explorations of chiaroscuro. Signed prints will be available for purchase, with 10% of net profits going to the Hospital of the Order of Malta in Bethlehem. The exhibition will be accompanied by traditional English Christmas refreshments. Exhibition opening times: Saturday 11th December 10-12; 2pm - 4pm. Sunday 12th December 2-5pm. |

4pm: Mystery Plays
5pm: Tea
6pm: Carol Service (Chants de la Chorale)
7:30pm: Buffet Dinner (8 euros per person. Please email us to confirm if you are coming.)
CDs of the Choir will be available for sale. Ideal Christmas presents.

Sunday 12th December is the leaving day; boys will be taken to train and bus stations after Mass and lunch. Rates for transport to different stations are available on request. Some students, travelling longer distances, are leaving on the morning of Monday 13th. |

I will not wish you a merry Christmas just yet, as we shall be emailing you again with the term's news, just before Christmas. But let's resolve to make a good and prayerful advent. You will be in our prayers at Chavagnes. Please remember us in yours.
