These 40+ silver and pewter 18th and 19th century items were donated last week to John Yates for The Falls Church Anglican by an antiques dealer closing out his inventory. He wanted them to have a good home on a Holy Table instead of being made into lamps and other decorative items. As someone said, they are "God's love letter."

Communion service items were not on the "immediate essentials" list for the transition plan our staff is working hard to accomplish, BUT we believe the Lord is affirming that He has all our needs, essential and not, in the palm of His hand to treat us when we need a refreshment or two. John Yates gratefully received some very old prayer books and commentaries from the same gentleman. We give humble thanks to God and to this very kind gentleman for this surprising and well-timed gift.

Greetings!

We are pleased to share with you  the latest issue of TFC Community News during this important season in the life of our church.

CURRENT UPDATE

Court proceedings:

Judge Bellows has set a hearing date for Feb 29 to decide the Final Order (implementation plan) to effect the property rulings he issued last month. In essence, on that day or soon after, we will know the timing of property transfers, etc.

Other News:

We have appointed a team led by Teri Ballou to work on ideas for "endings and beginnings" to finish well and start fresh while capturing our memories of TFC family life on this property. One plan is to have trained photographers from our congregation on hand to do a "photo shoot" of you and your loved ones and friends. Look for announcements of times and places for these dates: Feb 25, 26 and March 11.

Although we now find it helpful to refer to ourselves as "The Falls Church Anglican," this does not mean that a decision has been made to have this as our permanent name. We may very well be led to create a new name for our church and we don't yet know what it will be. For the time being this is how we are referring to ourselves.

Next week our revamped website goes live at www.tfcanglican.org . All staff and ministry email addresses will change to that address. For example: staff will be first initial last name @ tfcanglican.org

The current address will also work for short term, but please change your contacts entries to reflect the new address. You can communicate with us by email to Vestry@tfcanglican.org  Keep updating your contact information.

Look for Ash Wednesday services schedule in "This Week" leaflet and on website.

Pray for:

Wisdom for our vestry, clergy, and legal team and for favor with the legal authorities as we continue to respond to various aspects of the Court's recent ruling.

Over 100 new members to be confirmed and received by Bishop Guernsey early next month. We welcome them to our TFC family in Christ.

Progress to continue on final arrangements for Cornerstone and Crossroads move to Cherrydale Baptist on Sunday nights beginning March. Progress to continue on finalizing locations for TFC Anglican worship.

Giving to remain strong in February and March. It was down below pledged levels during January; then greatly improved this month so far. Thank you.

Stamina for our staff who are working hard and long hours doing double duty: real job AND move out.

In Christ,
Your Vestry
