Greetings!
On behalf of your Vestry, we introduce the first edition of the TFC Community News. We are pleased to share it with you during this important season in the life of our church. We are privileged to be the 18 lay members you have elected to lead our congregation, alongside our Rector, John Yates, and our clergy and staff champions who direct our ministries. They are devoted to helping us keep our eyes firmly on the prize of following our faithful God as He leads. We plan to send these newsletter updates regularly, to keep each of our members informed during this transition time. |

What we know today:
We have a dedicated and talented Contingency Planning Team that has been working for about 2 years to prepare for all possible outcomes of the court case. Among other things, they have worked on all aspects required in support of our current ministries and staff relocating to new locations. We will be able to tell you more about those plans as we nail down agreements and arrangements. Keep praying for all those details. They have named their plan, Joshua 1:9. Look up the verse and be blessed.
The Vestry intends to establish a worship and children's ministry location each Sunday to accommodate all our worshiping family and guests.
We are beginning discussions with the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia regarding the continuation of the TFC Day School through this school year and possibly the next so parents can register their children now for next year. We have some hopeful signs that the diocese may be willing to consider allowing our day school to continue to make use of its current space for the near term.
What we ask of our congregation:
Patience to wait in faith, not sight, while our team leaders complete relocation plans that will meet our ministry space and location needs.
Disregard rumors: don't believe them and don't carry them. If you have specific concerns or ideas, discuss with your ministry leaders or Pastoral Care team, available by phone or email. We have heard "thru the grapevine" we're moving to Loudoun, closing our congregation and dispersing to all our daughter churches, cancelling the day school, and others. None of these is true. We are staying together and we're proceeding under the daily provision of our faithful God and under his leading.
Work actively to stay together with your family, your friends and all your TFC brothers and sisters in Christ.
Send us your good ideas-prayerfully heard - we covet your prayers and your concerns as you listen to our risen Lord as He pours out his Spirit upon us.
Make your 2012 contribution Pledge and please honor the pledge you have made. We will continue to use these funds in accordance with the 2012 Budget and mission and ministry commitments your Vestry have established since our ministry spending year began on September 1. If you want to know more about our budget allocations or expenditures, please ask. |
Thank you on behalf of your Vestry. Pray for us as we each work to listen, trust, follow and obey God's Word written and alive in Jesus today and tomorrow. |
|
Faithfully,
Sam Thomsen, Senior Warden
Carol Jackson, Junior Warden |
