IRS Holds Saturday Open Houses on Feb. 26 to Help Taxpayers; March 26 Open House to Follow 

"We are opening our doors on these Saturdays to help taxpayers who may not have a chance to seek assistance during the work week," said IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman. DeafTax VITA Having a Great Tax Season

DeafTax VITA is off to a flying start this year with three more VITA certified preparers than last year and expansion into an additional five cities.  For the entire filing season last year there were 253 returns prepared for Deaf taxpayers and so far this year we have completed 131 returns with six more weeks to go!  Of those, 49% have received an average of $1,492 in Earned Income Tax Credit and a total of $251,162 in refunds.
