Promoted to RKC Team Leader
|

It has been a long strange journey since I started Average To Elite on a soccer field in Palo Alto back in 2007. I used to walk off that field every day sunburned and burned out wondering how it was all going to end up. Well, turns out it ended up pretty well. I have now been promoted into the Instructor Cadre of the Russian Kettlebell Challenge as an RKC Team Leader. This is the description of the RKCTL from the Dragondoor website: "The position of RKC Team Leader is also by invitation only. The RKC
Team Leader has displayed consistently strong teaching skills over a
number of years and demonstrates a very high level of physical skill in
their kettlebell practice. RKC Team Leaders teach on a limited basis at
the RKC instructor certifications." This is a pretty big honor for me and I look forward to many years in the future with the RKC.

New Affiliate Program!
|
I have started a new affiliate program for my DVD's and other future products using Post Affiliate Pro. You can have a look at it here. I'm offering up to a 40% commission on select products as well as special incentive programs. For instance, when Vol. 2 of The Corrections is released it will only be available through affiliates for the first 15 days. That means you will actually not be able to buy it through my website, you will have to find an affiliate. For affiliates this means you are able to take advantage of the initial rush. I have done my best to make this easy to use. All you need to join is a blog or website.

RKC II Recap
|
In February I attended the Level II RKC Certification Workshop here in San Jose, CA. In the past I have had a number of people question how much value there was in the Level II, particularly if they were already proficient in the drills being presented such as the Bent Press, Pistol, Jerk, etc. What I found at RKC II was that it isn't so much about the drills, but in getting there. The progressions for correcting flexibility problems and corrupted motor patterns were priceless. For me now it's not about getting a client to jerk two kettlebells overhead, but getting them to a place where they would be capable of doing it. Giving them the requisite shoulder and thoracic spine mobility and flexibility to even begin performing this is the goal. Read the full re-cap on my blog here.

Early reviews for the new DVD (All Over) Strong.
"Two of my favorite people, one awesome DVD. RKC Team Leader Jordan Vezina, and the monstrously strong Max Shank, RKC, have created a wonderful DVD that will help you get stronger. Not a bit here and a bit there, but stronger everywhere. Fun, informative, and effective. I can't say enough good things about it. If you want to get stronger, this certainly won't keep you from your goals." -Josh Hanagrne RKC The World's Strongest Librarian"Once again Jordan Vezina RKC Team Leader delivers the goods but this time he has brought a friend. I have always been aware of how powerful a teacher Jordan is both on and off camera so I had high hopes for this one. The only videos I have seen of Max Shank RKC are the ones where he shows his freakish strength and the kinds of things that can be accomplished from proper kettlebell training. What had caught me off guard is that Max is as gifted a teacher as he is strong. Concepts that some might find confusing are very clearly explained. The little digs they give each other actually had me entertained and laughing out loud throughout the entire movie. In a world of dry and boring training information (most of which is only marginally effective) Jordan and Max keep your attention while teaching you in a way that reminds me of both Pavel Tsatsouline and Dan John Senior RKC. The basis behind this DVD is taking your general strength to a new level. This is not just the strength specific to the lift but more the useful everyday strength that applies to MMA as much as it does to showing off for friends at a party or a bar just for the fun of it. The info is not more of the same old same old, but drills I have never seen before that I plan to start implementing in my own personal programming immediately. Everything is thoroughly and clearly explained so that you can immediately understand what must be done and why. The kettlebell juggling section of the movie reminds me just how much fun training can be. I highly recommend this to anybody that should be strong...which is everybody." -Eric Moss RKC Ericjmoss.com
