Besides creating art, Lisa loves supporting charitable fundraisers through her creativity. Examples include:
This summer, Lisa will be heading up painting parties at Sunset Bay Marina in support of Tom's Boat shoes. For each pair of boat shoes purchased, Tom's donates a pair of shoes to a 3rd world country. Lisa will be painting people's boat shoes with ocean scenes for them, and/or helping them through the process of painting the shoes themselves.
Lisa will be sending art through Steinhausen Gallery of Stuart, Florida to Miami for a benefit event to feed children in Columbia.

Rosalind Brenner
Artist and Poet
Rosalind Brenner received her MFA in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College. A poet and a painter, Brenner often combines both by beginning a visual work with a verbal concept drawn into the support of the painting.
Her art pushes painting into the realm of the contemporary by blending her own re-purposed work and materials and by experimenting with techniques to explore concepts and ideas, thereby becoming a fusion of the observed and the imaginative. She enjoys painting inner landscapes, which range from luminous and evocative abstraction to forms from nature, women, calligraphy, figures, creatures and music.
Her earlier work in stained glass is evident in the use of her color, line and shape.
POSSIBILITIES/ ENERGY PAINTINGS Images & Poetry
by Rosalind Brenner
A solo exhibition of Rosalind's interdisciplinary work entitled "Possibilities/Energy Paintings" is currently on view through June 6th in the Esther Raushenbush Library Gallery of Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville.
On exhibit are a selection of figurative abstract paintings, collage and poems, as well as the artist's debut book of paintings and poems, All That's Left: Poems and Paintings by Rosalind Brenner.
The show fuses Brenner's visual images with her poems, coalescing the two elements into a third art, in which the words complement the pictures or vice-versa, depending on how the viewer-reader responds.
Rosalind will be reading from All That's Left and her newest book Omega's Garden, at the following venues:
May 25th from 5-6pm: Canio's Books, Sag Harbor, NY
June 23rd, from 1-2pm, East Hampton Library, East Hampton, NY
In an occasion commemorating the 56th Anniversary of Jackson Pollock's death, Rosalind will be one of a group of noted poets who will read poems inspired by the artist and his world. The event entitled Poems for Pollock, will be held at the
Pollock-Krasner House in East Hampton, NY
from 5:30-8pm on Saturday, August 11th.
Brenner organized the event and will be joined by fellow poets: Lucas Hunt, Teri Kennedy, Grace Schulman, George Wallace, Maxwell Corydon Wheat, Jr. and Michelle Whittaker.
A reception and viewing of the Men of Fire exhibition will follow the readings.

Christopher Kennedy
Creating complex patterns in Camera
using static colored lights
Innovative, magical, fresh and commanding -These are just some of the adjectives gallerists and reporters have used to describe the works of Christopher Kennedy, a British-born photographer whose stunning, large scale works have also been described as conversation stimulating and thought provoking in any setting for which they may be commissioned. Equally at home in private residences, corporate and retail environments, as they are in hotel lobbies, restaurants, and clubs, Christopher's photography possesses a color and brilliance that illuminates any space it occupies.
His process is as unique as the images it produces. Using static light sources as his paint, and the camera as both brush and canvas, Kennedy applies multiple real time techniques to create dazzlingly vibrant contemporary art that has its own unique character, depth and motion.
In the final process, the artwork is printed onto high gloss, lightly brushed aluminum; this adds a luminescent, almost 3 dimensional quality to the already startling images.
Kennedy's works have been exhibited at:
The Old York Cellars Winery in Ringoes, NJ;
Gallery Piquel in New Hope, PA
The Photography Place Gallery in Doylestown, PA.
as well as the Spring Issue of The Artist Showcase Magazine.
Kennedy's images will be featured in the following upcoming shows:
From June 9th through July 1st
June 9th Opening Reception, 6:30-8:30pm
Continuum - New Works from 8 Innovative Photographers
The Photography Place Gallery
4000 Sawmill Road
Doylestown, PA
From June 15th through July 15th
Opening Reception: Friday, June 15th from 4-7pm
Photo Luminism

Thomas Lund-Lack
Capturing the Art of the Sport
"Luscious colors, master sense of movement, serene atmosphere.. a joy to behold!"
These are just some of the words Louise Hafesh used to describe the art of
Thomas Lund-Lack,
a British-based painter whose powerful expressions of drama and movement are the hallmark of his work. Lund-Lack hopes to arrest the motion of his subjects and hold it fixed so that in a hundred years, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again.
Not surprisingly, the artist gravitates to Thoroughbred Racing as an irresistible subject matter perfectly suited to his style of work. Less preoccupied with the details of which horse or which race, Lund-Lack aims instead to capture all the elements of racing in one impression. By incorporating figurative subjects, broken lines, abstract highlights and loose flowing brushstrokes along with a heavy application of paint, he readily accomplishes his goal.
Equally attractive as a subject matter are large and fast yachting boats, which together against a backdrop of sea and sky, create the foundation for his impressive marine paintings.
To capture the movement of a wave or the light on the clouds is a challenge as it happens when all the elements are in harmony and fleeting. These elusive features are difficult to successfully bring together, yet they are the very elements Lund-Lack believes contribute to an attractive and exciting combination of colours and tones reflective of many moods. It is his skill in doing this that becomes another signature of his work.
More of Thomas Lund-Lack's work may be seen on his website at: Absolute Arts.

Sally Painter
Illuminating Alternative Perspectives
Sally Painter has always had a special affinity for plants and an appreciation for the color, texture and detail of each species. Her oil and acrylic close-ups of blossoms, branches and leaves reveal an eye intimately attuned to the fragility and essence of everyday flora. Her palette is sun-drenched and her subjects enlivened. Her artistic ancestors might be said to be the Romantic landscape painters who saw emotion and narrative in the natural world without attempting to mold or create it.
Painter's petals seem to breathe on the canvas, brought to life by her layering of surface grains and careful choice of highlights, all the while inviting an almost disorienting familiarity with the flower subjects by using extremely tight framing.
"I illuminate alternative perspectives," Painter says. She describes her technique as "drawing you in with vibrant, powerful colors, appealing to your curiousity."
Many of Sally's paintings are currently represented by Agora Gallery in NYC, where her works will be on exhibit from June 12th through July 3rd.
On Opening Reception is planned for June 14th from 6-8pm
at Agora Gallery, 530 West 25th Street, NYC.

Congratulations to Layla Fanucci, who has just released
her beautiful book, Layla Fanucci, City of Dreams Unabridged, 1999-2011
In this beautiful, hardbound, coffee table book, Valerie Gladstone writes the inspiring story of Internationally renowned artist, Layla Fanucci.
From her early childhood influences inspiring her beginning roots as a singer, musician and teacher, we follow Layla through her life and her marriage to Robert Fanucci as they build their lives together in the Napa Valley. A tax attorney by day, Robert Fanucci is also a winemaker who has built a successful, award-winning winery following the traditions handed down to him by his grandfather. Layla's interests expand from her musical roots, quite by accident, to discover a passion for creating art only after she can't find a work of art for her living room and she decides to create one of her own.
The rest, as they say, is history. It is a story I've told before in previous newsletters and articles, and one that is eloquently expanded on through story and pictures in Layla's new book.
We learn how she developed her own unique style that has helped her achieve international recognition as an artist and an innovator. We spend 'A Day in the Life Of the Artist' and her winemaking family, where we take a tour of their winery and her art studio. Finally, we are treated to 60 full-color plates of Layla's best paintings which chronicle her work from her early beginnings as an artist in 1999 through 2011.
Published by Walter Wickiser Gallery, the 128 page volume may be ordered through Charter Oak Winery for $39.95 plus tax and shipping.
