SITARA NAGHAVI

Sculptural Jewelry &

Functional Art in a Gallery Setting

Join us at 4pm when Southampton Mayor Mark Epley does the honors of cutting the Ribbon to  welcome Sitara Naghavi to the downtown business community in Southampton, NY. This will be followed by a  delectable cocktail party catered by Seasons of Southampton.

A master craftsman and creative genius, Sitara Naghavi handcrafts each one-of-a-kind piece of sculptural jewelry and functional art with an artistic component and an eye for detail. Channeling her lifetime fascination and interest in metals and gemstones, Naghavi is particularly inspired by the malleable qualities inherent in working with sterling silver, allowing her to forge, melt, bend, shape, oxidize, polish and/or texture each piece, thereby creating uniquely individual pieces for each of her collections.

Equally enchanted by precious gemstones, many of Naghavi's pieces are punctuated with accents in turquoise, amethyst, rubies, carnelian and blue topaz. Contrasting metals, such as copper, are often incorporated into her work, offering an exciting juxtaposition of colors and shapes to each design.

The resulting pieces are infinitely individual works of art where no two are alike. Inspired by nature, Naghavi's forms echo the wave of the ocean, the shape of a leaf, the rocks found by the shore. They incorporate a fusion of East and West, of tradition and contemporary, of beauty and functionality.

Visitors to the Grand Opening Event will have an opportunity to meet the artist, view her work and enjoy an evening of cocktails and hors d'ouerves exquisitely prepared by Seasons of Southampton.

A percentage of all sales is donated to charities close to Sitara's heart: The Breast Cancer Foundation, The Breast Cancer Society, Southampton Hospital, Have a Heart Foundation and a select group of children's charities.
