Welcome Spring 2010!
Greetings!

And what a welcome sight those first few rays of sunshine are here in the Northeast! Signs of Spring abound here in longer days, greener pastures and my new home in the Hamptons springing back to life for the High Season after a long, cold winter.

For those of you who are not aware, I recently re-located to Southampton, NY and the transition has been nothing short of wonderful. Having grown up on Long Island, I've spent countless weekends in this beautiful, beachside resort that has been home to many of the great artists of the 19th & the 20th Centuries including: William Merritt Chase, Fairfield Porter, Jackson Pollock, William de Kooning, Robert Motherwell, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, among others. It continues to be a haven for the arts in the 21st Century.

Following are some of the highlights that have come along with this move:
The Hamptons Expo Group
My newest client, The Hamptons Expo Group, are the producers of several major international Fine Art Fairs:

The San Francisco Fine Art Fair - May 20-23rd, 2010
For nearly a decade, the city by the bay has been without a major internationally-ranked fine art fair-until now. Avid collectors, art enthusiasts, galleries and the art press eagerly await the long overdue arrival of the San Francisco Fine Art Fair. Over $300 million in art representing 500 artists from 70+ worldwide renowned galleries will be available for viewing and purchase. Attendees can select from the finest collection of 6,000 significant artworks from the 20th & 21st century - focusing on 1950's to present. Carefully vetted, the fair offers a spectacular selection of paintings, works on paper, drawings, printed editions, photography, and sculpture (both indoors and outdoors.) From the masters to important contemporary offerings, artworks range in price that fit into every collector's budget. Visit http://www.sffineartfair.com for more details.

ArtHamptons returns to Bridgehampton, NY on July 8-11th, 2010 as one of the highlights of the Hamptons summer season. Now entering its third year, ArtHamptons has already established itself as one of the top new fine art fairs in America. Last year, ArtHamptons attracted over 5,000 attendees that generated over 10 million dollars in business within a 3-day time period through 80 participating dealers. This year, we expect those numbers to increase. Visit http://www.arthamptons.com for more details.

ArtAspen  - August 6-8th, 2010
Never before has there been an opportunity for art dealers and collectors to come together and buy/sell fine art in this chic mountain community. Limited in size to just 40 select galleries, this intimate, world-class setting is a fun, manageable and rare art buying experience

Elinore Bucholtz
BCCElinore Bucholtz's artistic development moved quickly from representational to Abstract Expressionism. However, it moves from this approach to an even more lyrical style, with innovative use of informal strokes, incomplete forms, whimsical arrangement and accidental gestures that seem to fall where they may to create a more serendiptious experience for the viewer that the artist likes to call Abstract Lyricism, or Art that Sings. Recent reviews have expressed the following:

"Bucholtz boldy carries the torch of Abstract Expressionism into the Post-Modern Era by virtue of her energetic paint handling and unerring sense of form and color"

"...exemplifies the dynamism of  'action painting' in her muscularly configured compositions.  For her vigorous strokes.....appear to have been wrested from within the canvas, rather than merely applied to it, demonstrating...that "push and pull' can still exert a powerful spell."

"Lovely balance between shape, color and movement"

Enzie Shahmiri
Enzie
Enzie Shahmiri is a professional portrait artist and Orientalist Painter, who specializes in commissioned
oil portraits and figurative paintings.

In her definition, " A picture is worth a thousand words... I constantly aim for artistic excellence to create precious works of art that communicate something about the inner beauty, dignity and special character of every person I am fortunate to paint."

To say that she achieves her goal with each painting she touches is an understatement. Enzie's portraits leave her viewers speechless at the consummate detail they each possess, as well as the volumes they speak about the life stories of each of her subjects.

"I use my  intuition, my imagination and my skills to create portraits of people and animals. By capturing a fleeting moment, I am thus able to pull the viewer into beautiful stories and create heirloom paintings that are cherished for generations to come."

Linda Jane Jackson
BCCLinda Jane Jackson is a Fine Art Photographer based in Florida, a state that abounds with the natural beauty that inspires her work.

Linda's intimate approach to her subjects, along with her abstract eye offer a unique view of her natural subjects forever capturing their intrinsic beauty, ethereal quality and pure essence. There is no digital manipulation, as Linda is a purist. Any enhancements are limited to what one can simply achieve in a darkroom.

"Photographing nature provides me with the perfect escape. When surrounded by just the elements, and away from the noise and distractions of everyday life, I give nature the wheel, and see where it takes me. From the riverbanks to wildlife, it is ever-changing and always entertaining. My purpose in my photographic art is to capture that intimate joy through my images.    -Linda Jane Jackson

Linda's work will be the Solo Exhibit during the Month of May at The Sarasota Orchestra in Sarasota, Fl. http://www.sarasotaorchestra.org. Opening Reception is Tuesday, May 4th from 5-6:30pm.

That about covers everything I've got going at the moment. When I am not immersed in the marketing, promotions and representation of my clients, you can find me at all the most relevant shows for them in NYC and the tri-state area. I have been to some great events in the last 3 months including: The Armory Shows, ADAA, AIPAD, The Architectural Digest Home Design Show and ArtExpo 2010. The Good News is that Art Sales in 2010 are up, the shows were packed, and that is inspiring more artists to produce more amazing works!

Stay tuned for more details in future newsletters on many of the shows, publications and artists I've highlighted here!

Artfully yours,
