May I Have this Dance, Please!
2010-2011 is just getting started and Dancing Classrooms is anticipating 64 schools for the fall semester. That's only a portion of the 200+ schools we will be visiting this year. Along with developing into new areas and communities, we are establishing new partnerships, growing new relationships and planning new events for you to be a part of. Welcome to all new members of the Dancing Classrooms family who are committed to providing this unique and high quality social development program to children. |
| It's Official! American Ballroom Theater rebrands as Dancing Classrooms | | New Brand, New Image
After 10 years as a performing dance company, American Ballroom Theater has officially changed it's name to Dancing Classrooms to represent its growth into a social development program for 4th, 5th, 8th and 11/12th graders. This better supports our mission of building social awareness, confidence and self-esteem in children through the practice of social dance. Through the help of Colin Glaum, formerly with OgilvyAction, a new marketing campaign is set to begin in November 2010. Join us......we're on the move! |

| Reading, Writing...RUMBA?! | Improving the educational experience of children
Dancing Classrooms is not a dancing program; it's a social development program that utilizes ballroom dancing as a tool to generate social change in the participants and overall school culture. Learning to dance with one another fosters respect, teamwork, confidence, and a sense of joy and accomplishment in participating children.
Multiple research studies have been completed on the Dancing Classrooms program and the results support our mission.
- Social Development Research - two research projects indicate that DC does make a positive change in participant social development (ask us for the full breakdown of research findings)
- Childhood Obesity Research - two additional research projects indicate that DC has a positive impact on some of the variables that lead to childhood obesity (ask us for the full breakdown of research findings).
