Dear Progressives,
We've got a new event at The Progressive Center on the 14th that might seem out of place to some of you. I hope many of you will strongly consider coming down, regardless, because this forum is timely. It's something we think is very appropriate to our mission to help educate, and our core values which include diversity, inclusiveness, open-mindedness, and respect.
In that spirit, when a couple of gentlemen walked in our door, had an interesting far-ranging conversation with me, and wondered if we would be interested in holding a forum discussing the New Black Panther Party (NBPP)... I said, yeah! What with the recent controversial DOJ case involving the NBPP that came up recently, the NBPP's North Texas roots, and the continued interest in this organization's aggressive stances that some notable social justice groups have condemned as the product of a hate group, this forum is worth having for them and for our community. You'll also find out more about our moderator's group, a local chapter of the National Black United Front - a provocative organization, as well. I just found out we'll be having
some interview time in the 1 o'clock hour, Thursday, August 12th, on
KHVN radio - "Heaven 97am" - during Robert Ashley's show. Check it out for a preview of the discussion!
As with every forum we have, bring your questions, bring your knowledge, and be prepared for a spirited discussion. Do what you need to next Saturday, then come down for cold drinks and hot topics at 3pm at The Progressive Center.
