Dear Friends,
It's a new year filled with a mixture of challenges, opportunities and change, and I am making an exciting change. I am taking a leave of absence from The Progressive Center to work with the Bill White campaign as Dallas County Field Director and do all I can to see him elected as Governor.

My decision is based on my love for the State of Texas and my desire to help it be the best it can be. I also love The Progressive Center and it is in great hands with Tracy Clinton and his dedicated team of volunteers. I will stay on the Board of Directors, offer my advice and counsel, and always be interested in what happens here at South Side on Lamar.
The 2010 plans for The Progressive Center are dynamic and diverse and you'll be hearing more about this from Tracy in the coming weeks.
I appreciate each and every one of you for the support you've given The Progressive Center and for what you do in our community to see that democracy and justice works equally for all.
Warmest Regards,
Molly Hanchey

Dear Progressives,
While there is going to be some shifting around at the office of The Progressive Center, the core values and operating philosophy will remain the same. Molly Hanchey continues to be an invaluable friend and mentor to me and everyone who works here. She's only a phone call away and many of us will be seeing her regularly around the North Texas area.
We're going to have an interesting calendar of Progressive Center events similar to 2009. It's a major election year, so we're adding an "Elections" tab soon on our web page for easy access to resources and announcements. We've got a couple of more additions to the mix, but we're still in beta on those and we'll let those get ironed out before showcasing them.
Happy New Year to everyone, and welcome back to an exciting time in Texas!
Be Well, and Be Progressive!
Tracy Clinton Progressive Center Events:
In the spirit of activism that Martin Luther King Jr. Day represents, we ask that you do two things:
First, One in five children in North Texas are going hungry. Please go to the North Texas Food Bank website to contribute to their Food 4 Kids program (When you donate online to the North Texas Food Bank, there is a dialogue box that you can specify which program you want your donation to go to - you can specify the Food 4 Kids program here.)
The Food 4 Kids program sends backpacks home with the goal of reaching 9000 elementary school children in 300 schools in Fiscal Year 2010, providing roughly 60-percent of the kids' nutritional needs over the weekend. This service is offered to all thirteen counties served by the NTFB and requires donations to continue the program and expand the number of children being helped.
Second, this is a very important election year and we would love for you to make sure your voter registration is current and, if not, to update it. You can check that information at:
