Dear Progressives,
The recent events in the Texas Governor's race next year reminds me that I should mention that we're going to be preparing content and events for you as we head into the Primaries ending on March 2, 2010. I'm not sure if we're going to be hosting any debates, but we are in the process of putting together an information forum or two, downloadable handouts to help out the busy voter, and we might just finally get into posting short information videos and clips from events starting in January. We have posted 3 new articles on our webpage in past couple of weeks at www.ProgressiveCenterOfTexas.org along with a new photo on our "Key People" page of our volunteer team (click on it to enlarge) that have been invaluable in our eight months of existence - check 'em out!
When you're not actively enjoying your holiday, watching football, or catching up on household chores, check out the websites of our current Governor, Rick Perry at www.rickperry.org , and possibly the newest entry to the race, Houston Mayor Bill White at www.billwhitefortexas.com where White is asking for your input as to whether he should change his plans from running for U.S. Senator to running for Texas Governor. Our Governor's race continues to be one of the most curious races for next year, and we hope it gets curiouser and curiouser.
Meanwhile, back in Dallas, some of you need to pencil in a few minutes on Tuesday, December 8th, to vote in the runoff elections for the DISD Board of Trustees races in Districts 3 and 9. www.DalCoElections.org has the basic information you need to know who's running and whether you are in those Districts, and the League of Women Voters Dallas website, www.lwvdallas.org , still has their voter guide for the original November 3rd election if you need some background information on the candidates.
Be Well This Week, and Be Progressive!
