Dear Progressives,

Molly and I were asked to mention this event happening on Monday, and we agreed that many of you would really be interested. We're going to walk down the block from our space at South Side on Lamar to Gilley's to see the crowd - we hope you'll join us!

By the way, our good friend and designer extraordinaire, Ben Rush, pointed us to a great story in the Dallas Morning News about the two people featured in a published photo of the Cityplace demonstration last month. Check it out, then make plans to come on down to Gilley's on Monday:

Let's Get It Done: a Rally For Health Care Reform

Monday, September 14th  11:00 to 1:00pm
Organizing For America's 'Let's Get It Done' bus has been making its way across the country calling for real health care reform.

On Monday, the bus stops in Dallas for a rally.

Stand with fellow Texans on Monday to show your support for the President's reform efforts. A quarter of all Texans are uninsured, and too many others risk losing insurance if they lose their jobs or get sick. The time for action is now!

Upcoming Events at The Progressive Center:

Youth Power
Saturday, September 19th 9:30am check-in, 10:00am to 11:30am event
Students and parents are invited to this special event where students are able to ask pointed questions and discuss what's on their mind with a few experts on state and local government. Our featured speakers include Texas State Representative Carol Kent and Clay Jenkins, head of Voter Protection in Texas in 2008.
Our speakers will give brief opening comments, then each lead seperate smaller breakout groups doing Q & A and workshop activities, then we'll all come back together for a group discussion of the experience. Your young adults will get an interesting experience interacting with local leaders, and the local leaders will get a much-desired refreshing discussion with the next generation of decision-makers.
