Greetings Progressives!

We hope everyone had a great July 4th weekend. Molly and I spent the majority of it with our families away from Dallas and the tv, but thanks to the radio and Facebook updates on my phone, there was no escape from the wildest news. Sarah Palin's bewildering resignation and Al Franken finally cleared to take his seat in the Senate - only July 4th fireworks could top that!

We know that OFA has phonebanking this week, but come on down on Thursday night after you've made a couple of calls and help celebrate Molly's birthday in our space at South Side. The jazz will be cool and any divas will be on their best behavior.

Be Well, and Be Progressive!

Urban Environmentalism: Sharing Sustainable Progress
Friday, July 31st  6:30pm
As we all become more conscious of better using exhaustible resources, there is work being done and surprising formulas for success to be shared. Bill White, Mayor of Houston and former U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy (1993-1995), leads a panel discussion on stories of success and struggle in incorporating pragmatic green initiatives into civic resources and services. The DFW area began to shift to more sustainable growth years ago, but we can always use fresh perspectives and solutions so that our continuing population boom doesn't overwhelm us financially or environmentally. Bring your questions!
