Short and long sleeve t-shirts are 1 for $10, 2 for $15, and 3 for $25 in a variety of sizes. Posters start at $2. Help our vendors, William and Wayne close out their stock on 2008 items, and help the Progressive Center continue its mission to provide educational events like the "Beyond Fossil Fuels" and "Education Vs. Incarceration" forums and continue being your activism community center day in, day out. Get your Independence Day gear at The Progressive Center of Texas for one day only on June 27th from 1:30pm until 5:30pm! Cash only!

Beyond Fossil Fuels: The Dawning of Clean Energy in Texas
Saturday, June 27 from 10 am to noon
(Sign-in at 9:30am)
A panel discussion on clean energy in Texas. Panel members will be State Representative Robert Miklos, author of green energy legislation this past legislative session, and a representative from Green Mountain, a power company that sells pollution free energy to Texas and national customers.

What incentives for clean energy are in place, what's planned? What barriers are there to clean energy, including resistance from communities that don't think solar panels and wind turbines are aesthetically pleasing? How can we set up support for ecology-related legislation in the next legislative session? These and other questions will be explored.

More Progressive Events This Month:

Community Meetings on the City Budget Cuts - Monday/Thursday 630pm

There are 2 meetings with City Council members to discuss the Budget:

  • June 25th: Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake 950 E Lawther Drive at 6:30pm.

Please attend one of these meetings and voice your concerns for the priorities in the city's budget cuts.
