Dear Members & Friends:
If you haven't visited the FQBA website for a while, please take a few minutes to walk through it. Annie Flettrich, our Executive Director, takes a lot of time to keep it updated for your convenience. She keeps key topic right at your finger tips. The calendar of events alone is a great marketing tool for you to bring your business to your neighbors.
The July event hosted by Latrobe's (CE Adler) was brilliant brainstorm by Nancy Tusa and CE who head
the membership committee for FQBA. With our members, residents, and member potentials, we had a great and diverse turnout of around 100. Our fabulous vendors added to evening with wine by Latrobe's, and food by Acme Oyster House, Oceana, Antoine's, and Pat O's, and fabulous incentives OffBeat, New Orleans Magazine, French Quarter Finder, and Where Magazine. Door Prizes were donated by WhatsNew, New Orleans Promotions, and the Steamboat NATCHEZ.
It was at terrific success with 11 members joining that evening. Giant congratulations to the whole Membership Committee 2011! Job well done!
Our August lunch forum will see two very important leaders in our community address our membership with news for the coming year. So make your reservations early to join us at Court of Two Sisters Restaurant for a spectacular lunch, great company, and new s from Karyn Kearny, Audubon Institute and Mark Romig, new leader of the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation.
Finish your summer with success and we look forward to a prosperous Fall 2011.It has been an active summer for our businesses and for the many issues that we are addressing as an organization. Three of our top issues all involve everyone from government to residents and businesses, and all three are still in process. For more information please go to FQBA.org and find detailed reports.

10th Annual Dirty Linen Night presented by the Royal Street Artists & Merchants Saturday, August 13th The Royal Street artists and merchants proudly announce that this year's 10th Annual Dirty Linen Night will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011. Join the celebration on Royal Street from the 200 block of Royal to the 1000 block ending at Ursulines Street, from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. Dirty Linen Night will feature more than 60 galleries and shops and an exclusive shopping experience. Most galleries will serve cool refreshments, and special surprises between! Free and open to the public, the shops will welcome visitors into their businesses and offer a chance to meet the artists and owners. This has become a favorite summer event for both locals and visitors alike. Dirty Linen Night began 10 years ago as a grassroots effort to bring visitors to this unique strip of Royal Street, and to this day it remains a free event that truly belongs to the Artists. Beginning in the 1000 block of Royal Street all the way to the 200 block of Royal you'll find venues that feature locally created art, as well as beautiful hand crafted pieces. Each block of Royal Street has wonders to discover. In all, there will be more than sixty unique venues to visit. Please keep this tradition alive, come out to support the art and the artists! This group of artist owned galleries and studios is a great asset to the City of New Orleans, especially since no other arts district can boast so many working artists onsite, ready to meet the public on a daily basis. Dirty Linen Night is a great opportunity to meet those artists and visit our own crown jewel, the French Quarter. Thank you to all of our supporters, the artists, merchants, and volunteers (too many to mention) that have worked together to ensure that Dirty Linen Night is a success! And a big thank you to Arts Council of New Orleans for helping us out this year! Look for the Dirty Linen Night signs hanging at participating galleries and shops. Please visit our shops and galleries in the French Quarter! & Like Dirty Linen Night on Facebook and keep up with all of the updates!
