Earl GaerteOne Of The Greatest Engine Builders In Racing, Earl Gaerte, of Gaerte Engines, Passes Away 

One of racing's greatest engine builders, Earl Gaerte, passed away on August 8. He started Gaerte Engines, Rochester, Indiana, in 1969 in a two-car garage behind his house. His engines powered countless wins in sprint car and midget racing, although the shop also worked on late models, modifieds and more.
