Transition Tidbits
Dear Listserv Members,

We hope you are enjoying a wonderful November! Today we have several transition-related bits of information to share:

(1)  AT and IEPs
The Texas Assistive Technology Network created the Considering Assistive Technology in the IEP Process: The Texas 4-Step Model Resource Guide [PDF] to help educational teams consider assistive technology in the development, review and revision of a student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).

(2)  PDAs as Cognitive Aids

Read Personal Digital Assistants as Cognitive Aids for High School Students with Autism: Results of a Community-Based Trial to learn the outcome of a study conducted in the Commonwealth of Virginia examining the use of PDAs as task management tools.

(3)  WPAS Self-Paced Seminar

This free Workplace Personal Assistance Services Seminar  sponsored by Virginia Commonwealth University examines assistive technology, self-employment, funding and employers' perspectives.

(4)  Video by Self-Advocate

Being an Unperson [YouTube video] is a powerful reminder to treat all people with respect.

(5)  MYLF 2011 Forms Available

Delegate and staff applications, "requests for presenters," and sponsor forms for the 2011 Montana Youth Leadership Forum are now available on the MYLF web site.
