Transition Tidbits
Dear Listserv Members,

Welcome to the new school year! We have several items to share with you as you kick off the 2010/2011 season:

(1)  "Where Will I Call Home?" Housing Newsletter
In case you missed it over the summer vacation, in June we sent out our latest electronic newsletter. This issue focuses on housing options. Click here to read the newsletter.

(2)  "Transition Planning for Individuals with Autism"  This APSE-sponsored webinar will cover state-of-the-art transition strategies to help students with autism spectrum disorders successfully prepare for work and college.

The webinar will take place on September 16th from 12-1:00 pm Mountain Time. The registration fee is $40 for APSE members and $90 for non-members.

To register, click here. For webinar registration questions, please contact Jenny Levet, APSE Communications and Membership Director, at jenny@apse.org or by calling
804.278.9187.

(3)  NYLN Priorities Survey
Here is the invitation from NYLN:

"The National Youth Leadership Network (NYLN) is a youth-driven, youth-led organization. We are a formal non-profit. NYLN is made up of young leaders with disabilities. We live throughout the United States and its territories.

NYLN promotes youth leadership and education. We teach young people how to advocate. Our goal is to make sure that young people with disabilities know how to set and reach their own goals.

We are in the process of determining new goals and new objectives that would begin in 2011, and we want to hear from you!
What do young leaders with disabilities want to know?
What do you want to learn about?
How can NYLN be more helpful to you?

We want input from young leaders and allies (parents, siblings, friends, allies, teachers, community support providers, and more). Your voice matters!

Please visit our web page, www.nyln.org, and click on the link at the bottom. It's called: NYLN Priorities. One survey is for young leaders with disabilities under 28 years old. The other survey is for allies."
