Good afternoon! We have several transition-related resources to share with you today: 
 
(1) Transitions and Work Incentives Coordinator Job Opening:
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is advertising to fill the Transitions and Work Incentives Coordinator position. Applications are due by April 8th, 2009. For details and application information, click here. 
 
(2) MAR/Transition Conference 2009: 
Save the date! The Montana Association for Rehabilitation and Montana Youth Transitions Project 2009 Youth in Transition Conference will be held at the War Bonnet Inn in Butte, October 7-9, 2009.
Presentations will include information on:
  • Employment services
  • Independent living and housing
  • Self-advocacy and leadership training
  • Transition planning within IEPs
  • Social Security information
  • And much, much more!

(3) Apostrophe Magazine:
Apostrophe is a magazine conceived and produced by AWARE Incorporated. It is "about and for people with developmental disabilities." The magazine "intends to help turn can't and shouldn't into can and should. Every story, column and section in the magazine relates to can and do and eliminating apostrophes in peoples' lives." Apostrophe is distributed quarterly.

(4)  Disability History:
The U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy recently released "Disability History: An Important Part of America's Heritage." This informative publication offers examples of how states are promoting Disability History education and awareness, and also provides numerous online resources readers can access. (5) START-UP USA:
Self-Employment Technical Assistance, Resources and Training (START-UP USA) offers a variety of fact sheets and other resources related to self-employment for people with disabilities. Click here to view the fact sheets.
