Transition Tidbits
Good afternoon!

We are pleased to share these transition-related resources with you.

(1)  The Montana Office of Public Instruction web site has a number of resources for educators and parents.  When you access the site, go to the "Programs and Services of OPI" box at the upper righthand corner of your screen. Open the drop-down menu and scroll down to "Special Education." On the "Special Education" pages, you'll find PowerPoint and video training sessions, forms, examples, and other invaluable resources.

(2)  On the OPI site, you can access School-to-Work Work-Based Learning Legal & Labor Issues. This is a handy document summarizing work-based learning considerations in Montana.

(3)  Virginia Commonwealth University has launched an exciting new web site called "Going to College - A Resource for Teens with Disabilities."

(4)  Empowerment Conference for Native Americans with Disabilities: The Montana Medicaid Infrastructure Grant invites Native Americans with disabilities, family members, tribal and non-tribal staff, employers, and other interested parties to attend this free, one-day conference in Polson, Montana, on Thursday, April 2nd. Click here for the conference brochure and registration information.

(Please note: the Transition Projects at the University of Montana Rural Institute shares information and resources our listserv members may find of interest. We do not endorse the web sites or workshop contents or their providers, and we assume no responsibility for the validity of information provided on sites or in sessions not hosted by our agency.)
