Dearest DNG friends,
It is hard for me to believe that we have ended another season of Bible study together. Making Space for the Words of Jesus, helped us make ourselves more available to Christ by creating space in our lives for Him to rule and reign. This course has been timely as we see and hear about the disasters and unrest all over the world: earthquakes, tsunami's, and conflict in the Middle East. Jesus declared that His Words would never pass away and it is His Word alone that will bring us peace amidst the chaos.
For those of you who were unable to attend the study, consider doing it online. In these sobering times we all need to hide God's Word in our hearts, believing in His promises and trusting Him completely.
Although our Bible study has ended, Drawing Near to God Ministries is still very active. Included in this newsletter are all of the ways that you can stay connected with what we are doing. It is an exciting time for us as we continue to grow. Please pray regularly for the ministry as we seek to further impact our nation.
Blessings,
Joanne
P.S. - I covet your prayers, as I travel and speak at different venues.
I prayerfully consider each invitation to speak, so please keep me in mind in your event planning. Current Speaking Schedule.

"David wrote: 'I have hidden your Word in my heart,' for he knew that the heart is the wellspring of the person. Jesus, many centuries later, echoed this truth: 'Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.' What flows in and through your heart? Bookshelves are lined with the latest and greatest practices offering spiritual maturity and depth. However, the ancient practice of daily devotion, Bible reading and prayer, is the only way I have found to methodically hide away God's truth and be formed into the image of Christ. With a passion for both the Book and the God of the Book, Joanne Ellison has developed this wonderful devotional to assist you in your quiet time as you seek to draw near to God."
- Steve Wood, Senior Pastor, Saint Andrews Church (Mount Pleasant, SC)
The new Devotionals are a perfect gift for yourself or anyone in your life. We hear countless stories about how the daily readings are changing and restoring lives.

Next Season at Drawing Near to God Ministries...
The Book of James:
Attaining Spiritual Maturity
It's time for the church to grow up. The book of James teaches us that spiritual maturity is evident when we turn our trials into triumphs, stand against temptation, care for the poor, and are filled with patience and wisdom. As spiritually mature Christians, the world will not define us,
but we instead will define the world.
