Dearest DNG Friends,
 
Recently the Lord impressed upon me the significance of the Lampstand in the Old Testament Tabernacle and Temple. These ancient seven spouted lamps came from the time of Moses and burned all night in the Tabernacle, tended by priests. Oil was supplied by the people and the lamp reflected God's glory. In the New Testament, Jesus shared a story about the ten virgins and the importance of keeping their lamps filled with oil so that when the Bride Groom, Jesus, arrived, they would be ready. 
 
The Holy Spirit is our oil and gives us the fuel to fulfill Jesus' admonition for us to keep our lamps burning brightly. Remember that as we draw near to Him, He will fill us. The filling comes from reading the Word and wholeheartedly seeking Him. How are you doing with this in these relaxed summer months? Have you relaxed your relentless quest to be filled daily? Precious children of God, start today to call His name and reject the busyness of life that too often causes us to neglect our relationship with God.
 
As you enjoy the benefits of the beautiful summer season, remember that Christians are the light of the world. Shine brightly so that the wounded will spot you during their darkest days. Keep your reservoir of oil plentiful; preserve the tradition of the old lamps that shone for all to see the glory of God. Draw near to Him and He will fill your lamp.
